🔍 Research Focus:
This PhD aims to develop cost-effective and accurate video survey methods for monitoring marine life in MPAs. The project includes:
✅ Comparing video survey methods (stealth cameras, sBRUV systems)
✅ Developing AI-based video analysis for automated species identification
✅ Studying the recovery of snapper and reef fish in newly established MPAs
🎓 Scholarship & Benefits:
💰 Three-year scholarship with a $38,000 stipend (tax-free) + full tuition fees
🌍 Open to international students
🛥️ Hands-on research at Leigh Marine Laboratory (small boat operations, scientific diving experience preferred)
